Historic Badshahi Mosque
Badshahi Mosque (mosque بادشاھی), or "Emperor's Mosque was built in 1673 by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in Lahore, Pakistan. This is one of the most famous of the city and major tourist attraction models, beauty and grandeur of the Mughal era.
Accommodating more than 55,000 believers, Badshahi Mosque is the second largest economy in Pakistan after the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad. Badshahi mosque architecture is closely related to the Jama Masjid in New Delhi in India, which was built in 1648 by the father of Aurangzeb, Emperor Shah Jahan.
Badshahi Mosque is one of the sites where famous Qari Basit (1927-88), a widely acclaimed Egyptian recitor Quran recitation from the Koran.
Date
The mosque was built under the auspices of the sixth Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir. It was completed in 1673, under the supervision of Aurangzeb promotion brother Muzaffar Hussain (also known as Coca-Fidai Khan), who was appointed governor of the city of Lahore in May 1671 and has held this position until in 1675. He was also master of ordnance at the Emperor.
